Rekindle is a relationship reminder app that helps you stay connected with the people who matter to you. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What data we collect

Rekindle collects two types of data:

• Contact data (stored locally on your device) — When you add a contact to track, Rekindle stores their name, phone number, relationship category, reminder frequency, last contact date, and any custom message templates you set. This data never leaves your device.
• Anonymous usage analytics — We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect aggregate signals such as app opens, button taps, and notification interactions. No names, contact details, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information are ever included in these signals.

What we do not collect

• No user accounts or login credentials
• No location data
• No camera or microphone data
• No health or financial data
• No data is sold or shared with advertisers

Contacts permission

Rekindle requests access to your device's Contacts to let you select people to track. Contacts you choose are stored locally on your device only and are never uploaded to any server. You can deny this permission — the app will still work, and you can enter names manually.

Notifications permission

Rekindle uses local notifications to remind you to reach out to people on your schedule. All notifications are created and managed on your device. No notification data is sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings.

Third-party services

Rekindle uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage analytics. TelemetryDeck is a GDPR-compliant analytics service based in Germany that is designed to never collect personally identifiable information. You can learn more at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.

Rekindle can open WhatsApp, Viber, and Facebook Messenger via deep links when you choose to reach out to a contact. These apps are governed by their own privacy policies. Rekindle does not share any data with these services beyond what you explicitly initiate.

Data storage and retention

All personal data (contact information and preferences) is stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage mechanisms. It is never transmitted to or stored on any external server. Deleting the Rekindle app from your device permanently removes all stored data.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights:

• Access — You can view all data Rekindle stores within the app at any time.
• Deletion — You can delete individual contacts within the app, or delete all data by uninstalling the app.
• Portability — Your data is stored locally on your device and remains under your full control.
• Objection — You can disable analytics by contacting us at the email below.

Children's privacy

Rekindle is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
